When do you usually get ideas?
When you’re in the shower?
In the middle of the night?
When you’re on vacation?
When you’re driving?
Do you pay any attention to them?
Do you write them down?
Because ONE of those ideas could be THE ONE that completely changes your life.
That’s how God works.
What, Gary? God doesn’t just bring me money if I wait long enough?
This may come as a surprise to you, but God doesn’t have any money. The only way He can get money to you is to help you capture it in the marketplace with ideas, concepts, and strategies.
It just takes ONE.
Look at Curtis’s story.
Curtis had just started a new sales route for a company. As he listened to the representative that was training him tell him about some of the clients that he serviced, Curtis had an idea. He asked the trainer why their company didn’t have the account from the biggest company in town that could benefit from using their product.
The trainer told Curtis there was no point in pursuing that account because their competitor already had a relationship and long history with the company. The trainer admitted that he hadn’t even bothered trying to get that account.
But Curtis had had a God-inspired idea, so he told the trainer to drive over to the company immediately. The trainer wasn’t optimistic, but drove over to the company’s location anyway.
And the man who ran the company just happened to be there when Curtis arrived. Curtis was able to talk to the man about the products he thought would benefit the company, and the man said he’d be willing to look at a bid from him.
Long story short, Curtis got the account—and the $40,000 a year increase in commissions that the account brought in.
Here’s the thing: If you’re like most people, you’re just like that trainer, constantly filtering God-inspired opportunities and ideas over and over again through what you perceive your present abilities, or limitations, to be.
But God isn’t limited to what YOU think you know how to do.
Look at me. God gave me a dream one night to start a company that would help people get out of debt. Me—THE poster child of what not to do with money. In fact, He gave me that idea while I still had plenty of debt of my own to pay off. It didn’t make a whole lot of sense—me helping people get out of debt—but God was using the foolish to confound the wise.
The ideas God gives you might seem weird or completely unrealistic to you, too. Write them down anyway, and give yourself some time to roll them around in your mind and your heart.
As you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you, you’ll find that He keeps giving you ideas and solutions to problems that are all around you. That’s business at its most basic definition—solving problems and serving people.
And people will often pay BIG money for someone who can solve a problem they’re facing, or provide them with something they need.
If you’ve read my books or you’ve watched Fixing the Money Thing, you’ve probably heard me say, “We don’t find money; we create wealth.”
But have you really heard me? Have you started thinking differently for yourself and your family? Have you started thinking about how to create wealth? Better yet, have you started a business?
See, God has the answers for you, but you have to think differently. You need to get new ideas, concepts, and vision.
That’s what the Provision Conference is about.
The Bible says that all things are possible to those that believe. It also says that God can do immeasurably more than all we can ask or think. Peter had taxes to pay, and God told him to catch a fish. A woman was in debt, and God told her to gather pots.
God always knows where the money is. He knows how to help you create it. You just have to be able to hear from Him and know how to implement the God-inspired ideas in your life.
So, consider this your personal invitation to get the practical knowledge and the tools to do just that.
