Everything you need is already here.
God created the earth with all the resources in it that you would ever need before you were placed here.
For six days, He prepared the earth and finished it for us. On the seventh day, he rested. He rested because everything was finished , not because He was tired.
God had designed creation so that man could live and exist in the seventh day with Him, and without worry for provision.
There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his. Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience. – Hebrews 4:9-11
If you study the Sabbath, you’ll find that God didn’t allow the Israelites to do any work on that day; no sweating or painful toil took place.
The Sabbath was the seventh day of the week, and it corresponded to the seventh day of creation. You might remember that the seventh day of creation was the day God declared as a day of rest. Everything was complete.
But Adam lost that rest when he rebelled against God. When Adam sinned, he gave that provision away. He cut off God’s ability to provide for him. He was forced to provide for himself, spending all his time working—painfully toiling and sweating—just to survive.
But God didn’t leave us without hope.
He gave us a picture of the rest that He would someday restore—the Sabbath day. It was a picture of the day where we would no longer have to strive, painfully toiling and sweating, just to survive.
This was made possible by a double portion he received on the sixth day. This double portion was just as the name implied—double the amount it took to live on for one day. So, on the sixth day, man received the provision he would need to rest on the seventh day.
Wouldn’t it be great if that were possible today?
It’s more than possible; it’s what Jesus already paid for.
When Jesus said on the cross, “It is finished,” He was referring to the same finished work that God was referring to when He said it was finished back in Genesis 2, meaning that everything was available for man, and he was free from the earth curse system of lack and poverty.
2 Peter 1:3 confirms this for us when it says we have now received everything we need for life and godliness.
What does this really mean?
Well, the way this thing looks in the natural world is that we now have the ability to gather and produce wealth supernaturally.
You have the ability to gather and produce the double portion.
This happens through God-given ideas, direction, and timing. As you listen to God, He will direct you to harvest ideas and concepts that you weren’t previously aware. It’s this flow of ideas and new concepts that God will use to transform your life.
Remember, the Sabbath rest was only possible in the Old Testament by having the ability to harvest more than enough— the double portion. Hebrews 4:9 and Isaiah 61 tell us that the double portion and the Sabbath rest are available to us as the New Testament Church.
Friend, the double portion is available for you.
And the best part is you don’t have to work more hours to accomplish it.
The power of rest is a law of God’s Kingdom that frees you to stop chasing after money and start accelerating toward your destiny. It’s one of the most life-changing principles God has ever taught me, and that’s why I’m so excited to announce my new book, Your Financial Revolution: The Power of Rest. I really believe the Holy Spirit has given me a message that is going to change the way you work forever!
