It’s Not Hopeless: How to Unlock the Power and Change Your Life
If God could bring me out of my situation, He can bring you out of yours.
I had no hope. Zero.
Nine years feels like an eternity when you’re drowning in debt, wondering how much longer you can keep your family afloat while your boat takes in more and more water.
I had nobody left to turn to. I owed my relatives thousands of dollars, every credit card we had was maxed out and cancelled, and I couldn’t even afford to pay our $300 monthly rent on our barely livable house. We had only planned to stay there for three years while we saved up for something better. But now it had been more than eight years and our financial situation was only getting worse.
Have you ever felt like your life was an uphill climb?
Well, I felt like I was trying to pedal up Mount Everest on a bicycle. Making progress seemed downright impossible. It didn’t matter how much harder I worked; we only seemed to sink deeper into debt. Nothing I did helped. And the debt was only the tip of the iceberg—I was having panic attacks, battling sickness, and piling on medications to no avail.
Really, if they could use people as examples in dictionaries, “Gary Keesee” would have been under the definition for hopeless. My life looked like a dead-end street.
When I discovered why, it was one of the most powerful God revelations I’ve ever had.
I was a Christian, and I loved God, but my mind-set about His Kingdom was all wrong. Like many Christians, I believed that God decides what prayers He answers or who He shows favoritism to. I’m sure I was guilty of believing that if I fasted long enough, prayed hard enough, or volunteered more at my church, then I would have favor with God.
God showed me He had a better way.
And my life completely changed.
The great news is that your life can completely change too, because you already have favor with Him.
Ephesians 2:19 says, “Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household” (NIV).
You are not only a citizen of His Kingdom but also a member of His very own household, a son or a daughter of the King.
No matter what your situation is, God can bring you out of it. There are NO hopeless situations with Him.
His plan for your life is bigger and better than anything you can do in your own strength. That’s why Ephesians 3:20 says, “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think” (NLT).
God didn’t create you to just survive; He created you to THRIVE, to live in His favor; to live a life of rest—where your needs are met.
And the best part is you don’t have to work more hours to accomplish it!
The power of rest is a law of God’s Kingdom that frees you to stop chasing after money and start accelerating toward your destiny. It’s one of the most life-changing principles God has ever taught me, and that’s why I’m so excited to announce my new book, Your Financial Revolution: The Power of Rest. I really believe that the Holy Spirit has given me a message that is going to change the way you work forever!
No situation is too hopeless for God.
