Wanted: This is a Sure Fire Way to Get You Up in the Morning
When was the last time you dreamt about your life?
I’m not talking about the kind of dreams you have when you’re sleeping.
I’m talking about the kind that motivate you to get out of bed in the morning; the kind where you’re following your passions, using your talents, making a difference in the world, and winning in life.
The God-inspired kind of dreams.
Have you given up on those kinds of dreams for your life?
Because no matter what roadblocks you’ve faced, or how far away or downright impossible they seem, it’s not too late for you to live out your God-breathed dreams and desires.
Remember Abraham? In Genesis 15, we read that he wanted an heir. He and his wife, Sarah, wanted a child. They had a dream, a desire.
But as the years went by, and Abraham and Sarah got much older, and well past childbearing years, their dream no longer seemed possible.
Sure, God had made a promise to Abraham in Genesis 15 that his offspring would be as numerous as the stars. But by the time Abraham had reached 99 years old, he had a really hard time believing he would ever see that dream come to pass.
When God brought it up again in Genesis 17, telling Abraham that He was changing his name and would make him the father of many nations, Abraham laughed.
“Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, “Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?” – Genesis 17:17
Sarah was advanced in years. In fact, the Bible says she was beyond childbearing years. That means that there was nothing happening in her body that could produce a child.
It just wasn’t possible without God’s help.
Their son, Isaac, was conceived by a promise , and he was birthed by the power of God’s Spirit.
Isaac was born as a result of a promise, and—this is critically important— a promise from God carries within it the power to produce what it says, no matter how impossible it may seem.
So, you may have no ability in yourself to see your dreams come to pass.
It may appear hopeless.
You may be “beyond childbearing years” in whatever you’re believing God for.
But it doesn’t matter. Whatever promise you’re holding onto may seem absolutely, absolutely, absolutely impossible. You may have tried over and over and over again in your own strength, and fallen flat on your face every single time.
But it doesn’t matter.
Because you can live above the earth cursed restrictions of time and space. You can live in and tap into something that’s bigger than life—the Kingdom of God and His promises.
It’s time for you to dream again.
You may have no clue how it’s going to happen.
Sarah knew it was impossible for her to conceive, but she didn’t have to figure it out. She just had to know that God would make it possible.
After all, it was His promise, His glory, and His goodness that assured her that He had the power and intent to bring her dream to pass. She just had to put her confidence in Him.
The same went for Abraham. He may have known that his wife’s womb was as good as dead as far as conceiving was concerned, but he only needed to be convinced that God had the power to do what He said.
Abraham and Sarah stood on the promise.
Just like Abraham and Sarah, or Drenda and me, YOU can see the incredible and enjoy the impossible being birthed in your own life as you believe God’s Word and His promises.
