When I began to realize the Kingdom of God was a Kingdom with very defined, but *hidden* laws, I knew I had found the answers to all of my problems. I realized that it never was God who was holding out on me, choosing not to bless me or help me in my time of need.
He had given me everything I would ever need in life through Jesus Christ, who through His sacrifice gave me access to all that heaven has. The Kingdom operated by set laws that I could learn and apply to my life.
I read everything in the Bible with a different mindset, looking for clues that revealed yet another law of the Kingdom. I committed myself to be a spiritual scientist so that I could learn *why* things happened in the Bible stories I had read so often. I found one answer in 1 John:
> This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us (takes the case)— whatever we ask—we KNOW that we have what we asked of him. — 1 John 5:14-15
I love this scripture because it speaks of law, and law gives us confidence of obtaining justice. This is our confidence—if we ask anything according to the will of God (the law is what God calls right), He hears us. That means more than hearing our audible words. It means God takes the case.
Think of a judge who takes a case and rules according to *law*, not based on his own feelings (at least that’s how it’s supposed to work). God hears you— He takes your case, and you can be confident of obtaining justice, what is legally yours.
Let’s assume a police officer was standing in the road telling a truck to stop. If the police officer was crying and saying, *“Please, truck, stop. Have mercy on me. Please, pretty please, stop,”* that would be the most pitiful and disgraceful insult to the authority given to him as a police officer, as well as to the United States and its legal system. Instead, the police officer stands up tall and clearly tells the truck to stop, and the driver stops based on the law of the land and the position of the officer representing the nation’s government.
People who beg God have no idea of the law of the land or their position. The reason a police officer begging a truck to stop is such an insult to the nation is that it portrays a nation without law and authority. All you will have in that type of nation is anarchy. When Christians beg and carry on, it portrays the Kingdom of God as being weak and offering no answers. It causes people to doubt God’s willingness or His ability to help them when they already have a right to what they are asking for. Jesus tells us to STOP these wishy-washy begging prayers.
So stop for a moment and think on this. If you knew without a shadow of a doubt that your prayer is effective and all of heaven backs it up, that would make you confident when you pray, right? By knowing exactly what your legal rights are as a citizen of heaven, knowing what has already been freely given to you and understanding the process to receive, and enjoying the benefit of those laws, you can walk in a whole new way of living—the Kingdom way.
What would happen to fear? What would happen to uncertainty? How would that knowledge prompt confidence toward your future and confidence in the midst of a storm? This was the impact the Kingdom had on Drenda and me when we began to discover it. We continue to be amazed at all we see. And we continue to be amazed at the authority God has given to the church to operate here in the earth realm on behalf of His Kingdom.
